Don’t delay: how to make right decisions

Today every businessman, who solves dozens of tasks every day, sometimes has no time to think. How make ‘no-lose’decisions every time?

Better quickly than late. According to Day 1 philosophy by Jeff Bezos, many companies make right decisions, but too late. Decisions should be made with 70% of the information we consider available. If we wait to get 90% or more of the information, we will be waiting too long.

No hesitation. The common reason for delaying the final decision is that it may be unpleasant. For example, it requires admitting that your previous actions were wrong. So don’t hesitate to make unpleasant decisions.

Cutting off unreasonable assumptions. One of the main obstacles to making decisions is wrong assumptions. This may be not only incorrectly predicted objective data, but also purely subjective things. We tend to attribute our thoughts, feelings, plans, etc. to other people.

Replenishing energy in time. Right decisions don’t come after hours of thinking at the table with a fifth strong coffee and a tenth cigarette. It’s the opposite. Our brain devotes a lot of time to decision making. And since one of its main principles is saving energy, it starts to palm off custom decisions instead of creating new ones. So our brain needs not just rest, but sugar in any form to make right decisions.
