Mayoral expands to adult clothing sector

Mayoral expands to adult clothing sector

The Mayoral children’s fashion company, which this year celebrates its 80th anniversary, has recently signed the purchase of the Boston company, focused on the male sector, and a majority stake of Hug & Clau, focused on the female sector, with the desire to expand its operations to other sectors of the fashion industry.

Boston was founded in 1945 to bring the fashion of the golden years of classic Hollywood cinema to the streets of Madrid. It began by selling men’s clothing, such as shirts and suits, made by hand. It would not be until the 1980s when its expansion throughout the Spanish territory began. In 2019 it had a turnover of 7.9 million euros.

Hug & Clau was born in 2013 by the brothers Carolina and Sancho García, with the aim of creating a fashion brand for women that is committed to well-being and personal growth. Its establishments reinforce this philosophy through a careful shopping experience, one of its most outstanding signs of identity. Hug & Clau closed 2019 with a turnover of 5.4 million euros.

The three companies have a lot in common, something beyond their passion for fashion. And it is that Boston, Hug & Clau and Mayoral were born as family businesses. The business synergy between Mayoral, Boston and Hug & Clau will contribute to reaching their maximum potential and reaping new successes in this enriching period. The project will be led by a team made up of executives from the three companies.

Mayoral Ukraine is a regular exhibitor at Ukraine’s BABY EXPO. The next edition of the event will take place on 22-24 February 2022. If you would like to learn more about the acquisition, visit Mayoral stand and speak with its representatives.
