How to launch targeted advertising not being a professional

How to launch targeted advertising, if you are not a professional? The answer is simple: the same way as a professional. There is no secret way of targeting ads. The only difference is the used approach.

First, identify your target audience, its burning pains, desires and triggers. Next, analyze the product. Why is it useful? What customers’ problems does it solve?

Don’t say that your company has been operating in the market for ten years. Say what benefits customers get from your offer.

Create sales funnel

- How your target audience will learn about the product?

- What will be your goals in the advertising account?

- What will be the factors in attracting attention of a cold audience (promotions, special offers, lead magnet)?

- What will you do with a warm audience? Warm up with content in your account? Use a retarget to the discount product? Or both?

- How will you work with the existing customers? Catch up on advertising and upsell? Add e-newsletters? Or just let them decide to return for themselves?

Now move on to claims and texts. Write a few (from 2 to 4) sentences on how your product solves customers’ problems and why it is better than competing ones. And don’t forget to consider the call for action.

Make advertising models

After that start working with audiences and determine what interests and behavior correspond to the chosen target audience.

Don’t forget about technical settings: pixel adjustment, event creation, lead form integration, etc.

And finally, launch advertising and analyze the results. Find out what claim, creative content, placement and for which audience is the most effective. Understand, what can be improved or removed, and scale the result if needed.
