New fines for transporting children without a car seat in Ukraine

New fines for transporting children without a car seat in Ukraine

On 29 October 2019, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted to adopt a law "On Amending the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses regarding the Establishment of Responsibility for Violating the Rules for the Transportation of Children" (No. 1150).

Under the new law, the Administrative Code of Ukraine will be amended. Article 121 will now receive another parts 10 and 11, which establish administrative responsibility for drivers for violating the rules for transporting children in the form of a fine. 510 UAH (or 13 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens) is the amount of fine upon the first detection of a violation. 850 UAH (or 50 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens) is the amount of fine for repeated violation within one year.

Parents remember that it is you who are responsible for the health and safety of your children! Do not ignore the fact that a modern, reliable, and most importantly correctly installed, child car seat is an indispensable means of passive protection for a child while traveling by car. The use of such chairs protects against injuries and significantly reduces the risk of death of children in the event of an accident.
