Summer trends in children’s fashion from Andre Tan

Pastel shades or bright colors and most importantly comfort. Famous Ukrainian designer, father of a five-year-old daughter Andre Tan told us about 2020 summer clothing trends.

According to him, the main summer trend in children’s fashion is combination of different styles: casual, sport chic, urban style. Color palette can be both pastel shades and extremely bright colors. Today’s summer prints are striped, floristic, abstract and geometric. One more summer trend is safari-style clothing. According to Andre, “This trend is looking bright both in children’s and adult collections, so you will have no difficulty in creating a family look.”

Today adult trends are actively integrated into children’s fashion. But you can’t make kids wear comfortless clothing just because it’s fashionable, so one more trend is comfort. “Even in school fashion, we are moving away from classic school costumes towards casual looks,” Andre said. He is sure that oversize designs that do not prevent any movement are just the thing.

According to him, “Children‘s fashion should be child-friendly. For me, that’s the rule. Leave extra tight designs and complex structures to adults. Let a child be a child and enjoy this”.
